Patoranking: The reason i started music is because of girls.

I started music for love, girls – Patoranking

In an interview with BBC Igbo, the Reggae-dancehall singing sensation Patoranking commented on his early days as a dancer who later turned to music.

He remembered his ghetto upbringing and the times in school when girls would only gravitate toward singers.

He said that, in addition to his love of music, the main motivation behind his involvement in its creation was to ‘get the girls.

“Many of the things I learned about music and entertainment generally, I learned in the ghetto,” the “Alubarika” singer said.

“Before I started singing, I used to dance. One of the main reasons I started singing was that I liked to get the girls back then in school. Then, if you couldn’t sing, nothing for you.

“I just had to get involved in something that had to do with singing. And I loved music.”
