blames are on Victor Osimhen for trophy-less Napoli.

Mario Sconcerti, a renowned football analyst in Italy, has attributed Napoli’s failure to win the Serie A championship to Victor Osimhen.

Napoli spent several weeks at the top of the league but ultimately came in third place behind AC Milan and Inter Milan. Osimhen had a somewhat successful season as well, scoring 14 goals in 27 Serie A games.

Napoli only managed three victories in eight league games while Osimhen was away, losing heartbreakingly to Atalanta, Empoli, and Spezia at home. A victory in those games might have tipped the Scudetto in Napoli’s favor because they finished seven points behind eventual champions Milan.

“The coach(Luciano Spalletti) was not the Napoli problem (last season),” Sconcerti told Radio Kiss Kiss via Tutto Napoli. “The problems were Osimhen and his injury and the African Cup.”

Supporting Napoli’s owner Aurelio De Laurentiis’ controversial position on African players, Sconcerti believed Osimhen should share the blame with other Napoli stars who left the club for the Africa Cup of Nations in January.
